How to wash cloth diapers

PUL washing temperature - up to 60 degrees Celsius. Spin up to 800 rpm

1. Buy a nappy container (it can simply be a airtight bucket) and place it near the toilet.

2. If the diaper is only wet, you can immediately put it in a bucket.

3. If the child poop, throw the contents of the diaper into the toilet. You can use a spoon (only for these purposes!) To help yourself. If the diaper is really dirty, you need to rinse it in cold water because the heat will fix the stains. A diaper spray, attached to the back of the toilet, is not a very popular but perfect solution. It looks like a shower and does all the dirty work for you!

4. You should have enough diapers to do the laundry every day or every other day. In this way you will reduce unpleasant odors and prevent the growth of bacteria.

5. Wash the nappies in the washing machine.

Rinsing diapers before washing is a very good practice. In the washing machine we set the rinse cycle or any other shortest cycle in cold water, but without the addition of any detergents. You can also rinse the inserts manually after use. Why is pre-rinsing so important? Without it, the diapers will wash together with what is left inside them ;) The inserts may after some time start to smell badly. This is usually due to the wrong detergent or failure to set the pre-rinse. If this happens to you, take a look at our site and read about the so-called "stripping", i.e. thorough cleaning of the inserts. However, in our opinion, prevention is better than cure - that is, we rinse the inserts before washing :)

Do not fill the entire drum of the washing machine - diapers need space, especially since some of them are waterproof materials.

We wash nappies at a temperature of 60 degrees or 40 degrees with the addition of a diaper disinfectant (e.g. Nappy Fresh). You can use any washing powder or washing balls, but it is important that you do not add fabric softener (Lenor type), because it sticks the fibers of the inserts and thus reduces their absorbency.

Depending on the water hardness, you may need to experiment with different types of washing detergents. Make sure, however, that you use a product that will not irritate your child's sensitive skin. You should use half the amount of the detergent that you usually use for washing.
Nappies should be spun at a maximum of 800 rpm to avoid destroying the waterproof layer.

6. Reusable diapers are the fastest to dry in the sun, which additionally whitens the microfleece inside the diaper. If you can not dry them outside, you can also dry them hanging on strings at home. We advise you against drying pockets and covers in a tumble dryer, as it can damage the laminate, while you can dry the inserts in a tumble dryer.
