Are Reusable Pads for Incontinence Worth It?

We often receive questions about whether using reusable incontinence pads is cost-effective. No wonder – a disposable pad costs about €0.1–€0.3, while one reusable pad costs over €4.6, plus washing. So – we did the math!
Looking at disposable incontinence pads from brands such as Always, Seni, or Tena, the price per piece ranges between €0.1 and €0.3.
How much do you spend per month on these pads? Every woman uses a different number, but it’s easy to calculate. Let’s assume one pad costs €0.18, four pads are used per day, which gives €22.1 per month.
And what about reusable pads? By spending the amount you would normally spend on disposables over two months, you can buy 7–8 reusable pads. It’s hard to say if that’s enough – you might need more.
Should washing costs be included? Technically yes, but in practice you can wash them together with your regular laundry. Does adding a few pads really increase the cost? Probably not… If you want to calculate it separately: one washing load (electricity, water, detergent) costs only about €0.3 (2022 prices).
I hope this convinces you that using reusable pads is truly cost-effective
