Snappi clip – what helps fasten a cloth diaper on a baby?

The Snappi clip is something that will come in handy for many fans of reusable diapers. What is it, what does it look like, and what is the popular “snappy” used for?
The Snappi clip is an accessory used with reusable diapers. It is designed to fasten cloth diapers, pre-folds, or other inserts that do not have sewn-in fasteners. The Snappi clip ensures that the fastened diaper stays in place, just as it was put on the baby's bottom. The Snappi clip is an alternative to the once popular safety pins. However, it has a huge benefit over them: it is safe and won't hurt the child.
The Snappi clip is T-shaped. It is made of a very flexible, non-toxic thermoplastic material. Its colors come from food dyes. Each arm of the clip ends with teeth. It is these teeth that play a key role in fastening the diaper on the child. The teeth hook onto the fabric, and because the clip is flexible, they “pull” the fabric toward the center, which ensures that the diaper stays in place.
The clips work perfectly with cotton gauze diapers, and bamboo cotton prefold, made of loosely woven fabric, into which the teeth of the clip can be embedded. However, the clip cannot be used to fasten flannel, hemp, or wool diapers with a tight weave, or very delicate diapers.
Note: The Snappi clip must be properly prepared before first use. To do this, pull each arm of the clip about 10 times. During this process, you will feel the clip becoming more flexible. This creates a memory in the material to return to its original shape. This is what makes the clip work, because when fastened to the diaper, it pulls inward. Avoid pulling on the loop on the clip to prevent damage.
When storing or carrying the clip, it is a good idea to protect the teeth by hiding them in the loop.
The clips can be cleaned by washing them in soapy water. We do not recommend washing the clips in the washing machine, as this may damage them.
Note:
The Snappi clip is not a toy and should always be kept out of the reach of children.
After putting the Snappi on the diaper, remember to put on the cover – this will ensure that your child does not unhook the Snappi and remains completely safe.
Snappis are sensitive to UV rays, so do not expose the clips to the sun.
