What else can a diaper cover be used for?

What else can a diaper cover be used for?

Diaper covers for newborns and infants, and older children, are reusable diapers that work very well. Provided, of course, that they are equipped with the appropriate absorbent insert. They are valued for their ease of washing, quick drying, simplicity of use, but also for their beautiful designs that are pleasing to the eye with every diaper change.

Can diaper covers be useful for anything else besides being used as reusable diapers?
It would seem that protecting the child while they are relieving themselves is their only function. However, this is not the case. Reusable diapers such as wraps can be used for other things. But what things?

Diaper covers at the pool
We have already written about this on our blog. It can be used as swimwear at the pool. It is perfect for this role:

  • it does not restrict the child's movements;
  • thanks to the tight-fitting elastic bands on the legs and waist, it prevents waste from flowing into the pool;
  • it is not damaged by contact with chlorine;
  • it is pleasant and attractive to the eye.

Diaper covers and potty training
When the time comes to potty train, diaper covers can be useful in helping your child understand their physiology. How? If you use an absorbent insert without a “dry bum” insert, e.g., a terry cloth diaper or bamboo insert, your child will feel wet after peeing. This will be a clear signal to them that they have peed. You can also choose not to use an absorbent insert at all if your child occasionally forgets to tell you when they need to pee.

For games!
The diaper cover can be used as a play diaper. Children really enjoy playing with snaps (trying to fasten and unfasten them is a good way to develop fine motor skills) and Velcro. The diaper can also be used as a diaper for a teddy bear or doll. Why not!
