What are training pants for?

Training pants for children are useful during the potty-training period. This usually happens around the age of 2. It is the time when a child begins to gain control over their physiology. However, for this to happen, they need to be able to feel – on their own skin – what happens when they pee.

When we teach a child to use the toilet and give up diapers, we inevitably face the problem of wet floors. Hands up: which parent of a potty-training child hasn’t had to wipe the floor? That’s exactly the point – on the one hand we want the child to feel the wetness, but on the other hand, constantly wiping the floor and washing peed-on shorts or tights is simply exhausting.

Training pants for potty training solve both of these needs. They are tight enough to hold back leaks and stop the floor from getting wet, while at the same time letting the child feel the wetness, which makes potty training easier. On top of that, they look like regular underwear, which for a child at this stage really matters.

Training pants are made of a waterproof PUL layer, have a drawstring to adjust the fit at the waist, and a skin-friendly layer of fabric on the inside.
